Registering a Domain
From Mediawiki.easydns.com
easyDNS makes it easy to determine if a domain is available, set up your registration info, and get the domain registered quickly. The steps below will walk you through the process.
If you're looking to add domain for DNS service only, see our tutorial here.
Step 1
Log into your members page at http://web.easydns.com and click the link in the Home menu on top left side that says add a domain
This will take you to the domain registration page.
Step 2
Enter the domain name you want, along with the extension (.com, .net, etc..), then click begin.
Please note that .ca domains have a slightly different process. Please see our tutorial on registering .ca domains here.
Our system will check to make sure its available, and ask you to choose the service level you wish at this point. Remember that if you are uncertain as to what to pick, you can always choose to simply register the domain now, and upgrade to the appropriate service level when you decide it's time.
At this time, we also let you know what other extensions have that name still available, should you wish to register multiple domains at the same time.
Select any other domain types you may wish to register, then click continue
Step 3
The fields for the various registration contacts will automatically be filled with the information from your user account. If this is correct, simply click continue. If you wish to edit any of the information, check off which contact information should be different in the boxes below, and it will open that contact for editing. When complete, click continue'
You'll be shown the settings that the domain will be registered with a final time to confirm. Please make sure these are correct, as this information will determine the legal owner and administrative contact for the domain, should there be any future dispute or loss of account access.
Important Note:
All telephone numbers must be in the form of (+countrycode.fullnumber) for example : +1.1234567890 or +1.1234567890x125 where 125 is the extension number.(please note that +1. denotes the country code where "1" is the country code for North America)
For all the details on formatting and limits, please see
Step 4
You will now be presented with the invoice for the domain, and be asked to confirm your understanding of our terms and services. Please make sure to check off the agreements before clicking your payment selection, or you will not be able to complete the registration process.
To register the domain right away, it is strongly advised that you pay by credit card or Paypal credit card payment. Should you prefer to send a check, the invoice will not be marked as paid until it is received.
Important : Please keep in mind that until we receive payment for the invoice, through whatever method you choose, the domain is still not registered and can be registered by anyone else until it is.
