From Mediawiki.easydns.com
The whois information .ca domains is handled by a system of individual contacts. Each contact is a unique 'entity' with information about it, including the contact name, associated e-mail, phone, real name, etc..
To change the whois information for a .ca domain, you must change what contact is assigned to the whois record in question (Domain Owner, Administrative or Technical Contacts).
You can do this either by creating a new contact and having the record assign it accordingly or, if you know the existing contact ID, entering that. in both cases, you will need to start at the Domain Administration page. Click on the 'whois' link on the Domain Information line, to be presented with all the domain information, then scroll down to the 'Contact Information' section shown below.
- To create a new contact, click the link on the line that says "If you need to create a new whois contact for your domain. Please click here."
- To select an existing contact that you have created with easyDNS in the past, click the link on the line that says "You can also change the contacts associated with your domain on this page. "
New Contact
When you create the new contact, you will be asked to select which contact type you wish from the pulldown menu, and then enter the information.
Please keep in mind that CIRA's Canadian Presence Requirements require that all the information be accurate, and appropriate to the type selected (for example, if you select an Individual, it must be a real person's name. If a company, then the full - legally incorporated - name, etc...).
Once the information is entered, click
and you will be brought to the page which asks you to confirm the agreement with CIRA. After that, the contact will be created and the domain assigned to it.
Select existing contact
From the pulldown menus provided, choose the preferred contact ID for each type. Once your changes have been made, click
to commit them.
NOTE
Domains which have had changes made in the last 30 days, or are less than 60 days old cannot have their whois data edited.
